Something draws you East. Before you have time to overthink your decision, you move in that direction. As you walk, you hear a splishing sound. And then a splash. You pick up the pace, it sounds like there’s a bath situation afoot! Almost out of breath, you find yourself in a swamp. But not just any swamp – this one is full of friendly frogs! 

Approach a frog

Hello, little frog! How are you today? 

The frog looks at you with its adorable eyes. You lose yourself in them. Suddenly, one of the other frogs leaps out of the water, waking you from your reverie. How long have you been holding eye contact with the frog? Is it judging you? What did you do the last time this happened? Oh, right. Offer it some food as a distraction!

Offer the frogs some slime

Once again, slime saves the day. The frogs absolutely loved it! One frog in particular won’t leave your side. This is the best day ever! You won a staring contest with a frog. Well, you entered the contest, the winner has yet to be crowned. But then you also shared your snack and made a new friend. This is going to impress everybody at camp! There’s no time to waste, let’s go Froggy! 

Offer the frogs an apple

The frogs look at you. No, actually they look right through you. It’s as if they are both ignoring you while making it very clear that they are aware of your presence. It’s unsettling and you sense that you have committed a grand froggy faux pas. Or they just don’t care for apples. You shake it off, close your eyes, and reset.

Hop like a frog back to camp

You hop along, happily. Perhaps a little too happily – you’re not paying any attention and on a particularly hoppy hop, you trip! You feel like you’re falling in slow motion and see the frog leaping out of your arms and into the camp. This causes quite the commotion; everyone is excited but also caught off guard. You and your friends try to catch the frog, but end up chasing it into a nearby Nether portal. Ooops.

Follow the frog into the Nether

Well. You’re in the Nether now, I hope you’re happy. This is where ghasts live!! But also lots of other hostile mobs, like the magma cubes that are currently surrounding you. How are there so many of them? You need to find this frog, fast.  

Before you can prove how brave you are, you catch a glimpse of the frog! It’s behind the magma cubes. Be careful, frog! It shows no signs of stopping however, it hops over to a small magma cube and attacks! This is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before, but before your eyes can believe what they’re seeing you are treated to another astonishing display of frog ingenuity. It produces a glowing block that you’ve only ever heard about. You thought that froglights were just a myth, but there is one right in front of you. 

There’s no time to think. You grab the frog and the froglight block and run as fast as you can through the nether portal. Phew! Safe at last! But what now?

Jump into the water! You're a frog now!

You immerse yourself in the swampy water. Now this is the type of self-care you can get into. A free spa day in the wild! You bob around in the water, turning your head slightly to look at all the other stuff in the swamp. You spot some slime, trees, swamp water, and something you don’t quite recognize floating on the water. Hmmm. What could it be? Is it worth investigating?

Fill a bucket with the stuff and get out of the water. There is science afoot!

Hmmm. This seems to be frogspawn! You’ve only heard about this, there’s nothing else quite like it in the entire Overworld. Frogspawn turns into tadpoles. Tadpoles turn into frogs. 

I want more frogs. Now.

There’s no time to waste! Gather more slime! Feed the frogs! Watch out for hearts! Breed more frogs!
