Our bug reporting system is changing in January, and you'll have until January 31 2025 to migrate your account to the new system.
Players across the world help us hunt bugs in our releases – and your bug reports are a vital source of information for us. They help us keep both editions of Minecraft healthy, and running smoothly across various devices. So if you’re a player that regularly supports us by submitting bugs – this article is for you!
How is the bug reporting system changing?
During the first week of February, we’ll be migrating from a server form of Mojira to a cloud version of Mojira.
This is because Atlassian has deprecated all Jira Servers and stopped providing support as of 15th February 2024 (Server End of Support FAQ | Atlassian). We secured an additional year of support last year, but we now need to transition to Jira Cloud before our current license expires.
What does this migration mean for players?
This means that if you want your account and bugs to be migrated from our current Mojira server to the new Mojira Cloud, you’ll need to give permission for your data to be transferred before January 31 2025.
How do I migrate my account?
Players with an active account in the old Mojira server system will be asked for their permission to migrate their account – and their submitted bugs – over to the new Mojira Cloud.
You will be given the choice between the following options:
- Yes, I consent to the transfer of both my account and my bugs.
- Yes, I consent to the transfer of only my bugs and associated personal data. My account will not be transferred.
- No, I do not consent to any transfer of personal information. My bugs will still transfer, but personal data will be removed.
There’s still time to migrate your account. Simply follow the instructions provided at aka.ms/MojiraMigration, and ensure you complete the opt-in form as soon as possible. The deadline for opting in is January 31 2025.
Please note that we cannot migrate your account without your permission.
What if I don’t migrate?
If you don’t migrate your account – don’t worry! You’ll still be able to set up a new account in the new Mojira Cloud, and continue to submit bugs. However, this new account won’t contain any of your old account data – so if you want to retain that, be sure to opt-in before January 31, and migrate!
