Minecraft has always been a game that welcomes all types of players from every part of the world. We love how our game connects friends, family, and communities, giving as many people as possible a chance to create and explore together.
Minecraft is for everyone, no matter where you’re from or how you choose to play.
On that note, we want to express our unwavering support for the Asian American Pacific Islander community. Hate crimes targeting this group are sadly not new, but are part of a long history of racism against the AAPI community. In addition, we’ve seen an increase in these crimes during the Covid pandemic, which is disturbing and unacceptable.
We’ve been listening, learning, and considering what we can do to help. As a first step, we’re taking part in the Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, where we’ll celebrate the culture and contributions that the AAPI community continuously brings to Minecraft. The incredible diversity among our creators is a big part of what makes our community shine, so we want to amplify their voices and showcase their talent. More to follow.
We’re also donating 100,000 USD to Asian Americans Advancing Justice – an affiliation of five organizations advocating for the civil and human rights of Asian Americans. Learn more here.
