In an announcement back in May, we wrote that time flies, and I’m happy to report that’s STILL the case! At least for me, who’s been hibernating since that exciting announcement – the creation of Minecraft National Park.
Today, we’re happy to share that the park is open, and until January 30, you can purchase it from Minecraft Marketplace** with the net proceeds going to The Nature Conservancy!
Built by over 50 passionate creators,* Minecraft National Park is a Minecraft world that celebrates the wildest corners of the Earth and teaches players how to preserve them by exploring nine diverse biomes. The world has been created together with The Nature Conservancy, an environmental nonprofit organization working with educating audiences and combatting the effects of climate change. And there’s plenty to discover: You can visit ranger stations, explore visitor’s centers, and interact with features like wildlife crossings – real-life constructions that allow animals to cross roads safely while keeping their habitats connected.
During Minecraft’s 15-year anniversary, we donated $100,000 to support The Nature Conservancy's cause, and now, you can support them as well by playing this wildlife-filled world! If you purchase the Minecraft National Park, the net proceeds from the world will go directly to The Nature Conservancy**, helping them in their mission to create a more sustainable future for our planet!
During the announcement back in May, we also kicked off a build challenge for the park’s main monument – a structure that would be displayed in the Central Visiting Center. Anyone could submit their creation, following the theme of nature’s beauty and diversity while also including at least one mob or plant from Minecraft. And no other builder delivered a more original composition than GuilleAnimations with their wholesome axolotl build. Congratulations, and well built!

**Between October 30, 2024 and ending on January 30, 2025, in addition to a contribution of $100,000 to The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Microsoft Corporation will pay approximately $3.75 per sale of the map, with a minimum aggregate royalty payment of $50,000, to TNC. TNC’s mission is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.
