With its tall, white skyscrapers and high-tech architecture, Starlink is an approximately 1500 block wide spaceport, created in just a week by the team known as “AntaresBT”, specifically its members: Kae, LeonIDL, Miao, and Kevin-The-Ting.
Kae, architect, level designer, and voxel artist on the team shares, “Every single builder on the team is an artist in an additional domain outside of Minecraft, such as writing, painting, sculpting, modeling or music composing, which as a matter of fact brings a lot of different angles to approach a project's concept phase from.“
Kae goes on to describe this enormous hub, full of all sorts of areas. There is the urban area, shaped after AntaresBT's own logo, upon which they laid out a grid and designed buildings, including reworks of real-life buildings such as the Empire State Building in New-York, or the Schloss Belvedere Museum of Vienna.
"It is mainly noticeable that the city is split in two main areas," he explains, "the central star, in which you'll find most of the sharp towers, and the halo, on which rests the spaceport transitioning into a posh residential area up north. What we really had fun working within this project was the proportion between spaceships and buildings, where a skyscraper happens to be not much longer than a trader carrier, and just as wide as a utility pod. Also, the spectacular sky highways cruising beyond the skyline are actually made out of really tiny ships, simulating a greater distance when seen from below!”
We look forward to seeing more creations submitted from this team and appreciate the AntaresBT team for bringing this epic build to our attention.
