Our New Year’s Sale might be over, but the celebration continues. This week it’s heating up! If you’ve spent the last week exploring the ocean floor like me, then you’ll be glad to know this week’s fun instalment continues with the liquid theme, now in the form of rapidly rising lava! Yay! What else would you expect from an adventure called Rising Lava Parkour, the new free map from Dodo Studios!*
New Year’s Celebration: Rising Lava Parkour
A parkour adventure with a sizzling twist!
Your goal is simple: parkour your way to victory and avoid the rising lava that’s chasing you! Now, I will be the first to admit that parkour (both in-game and IRL) is not my strong point. I have run from zombies many a time, and just as many a time a basic staircase has been my downfall (why do I never build bannisters?) You can imagine my terror delight at the prospect of putting my parkour skills to the test then in this adrenaline-pumping adventure, where one second of hesitation might be the difference between toasting your victory or getting toasted feet! As a person who knows their own limits, I immediately asked Wouter from Dodo Studios if they have any top-secret tips to make sure I make it all the way to the top:
Wouter from Dodo Studios“We hope that the players will learn that in every stressful situation there is a way out, by keeping calm while coordinating with precision you can achieve so much!”
Ah, yes, precision. I’ve heard of this skill before, and I’m 99% sure it’s the opposite of my favorite gaming technique: button mashing in a panic. Lucky for me, as well as three separate parkour maps to try out there are also difficulty settings for new players! Which means I can start with the slowest lava there is, while experienced parkour-ers can set their game to double speed and put their in-game agility to the test. Play against yourself and race against the clock or grab your friends and make it a group competition, because as Dodo Studios says: “playing Rising Lava Parkour together makes it even more hilarious!”
I’m not sure I’ll make it to the top on my first attempt, or my second, but I am sure I’m going to have a great time trying! Dodo Studios even put some handy jump pads in there, which is very helpful of them! I’m sure they haven’t put anything in their map that would stop me from reaching the top, have you? Wait, what do you mean there are traps? How many? How can I spot them? Did someone say “swinging axes?” Wouter? Wouter!!
Download Rising Lava Parkour now and see if you can make it all the way to the top!
