New on Java Realms: Keepin’ Up With The Pillagers!

12 new maps to play instead of raiding!

I have come to realize that I’m thinking too small about the scope of these releases. Humans are great but focusing on just one group is underselling our maps’ appeal. What we need is mass appeal! Maybe there is another audience. An audience within Minecraft itself – pillagers! For today, I would like to pander to them exclusively in order to broaden our player base, and maybe get them to stop raiding the village on my server!

To help me out with this task I will split this post with my pillager cohort Pillager who will provide their opinion and witty banter throughout. So, raise your Ominous Banners, shoot some arrows into the sky and pour out some milk for your fallen raider buddies as we look at a Realms release today that is exclusively for everyone’s favorite evil villagers!

Pillager: Hrmph hrmm!

My co-star has informed me that ‘evil villager’ is a derogatory term when addressing pillagers and I would like to apologize to the pillager community.

DUNGEON OF THE ARBALIST

by Command Realm

Going to start this one off with a surefire bet involving every pillager’s favorite game genre: FPA’s (First Person Arbalist)! Ever tired of shooting the same ‘ol crossbow? Dungeon of the Arbalist have an upgrade system that lets you infuse your crossbow with elemental upgrades, as well as an entire system of stat modifiers and a dungeon that will unlock gradually as you find treasures and beat your various foes. The cherry on top is the lobby that is populated with talkative pillagers, seems they have already beat me to getting into this game!

Pillager: Hrmp! Hrmmm hph!

VILLAGER AVENGERS

by Yeggs

Us humans love creating what-if scenarios, fantasy and sci-fi being two prime examples. What if there were dragons? What if we had space skateboards? Now follow me for an even more hysterical hypothetical: What if pillagers were the bad guys and the villagers were the hard-working military unit, trying to maintain a sense of order in the Overworld? Wild, right? This third person arbalist-em'-up fully explores this wacky premise, with wave-based combat and neat features such as shooting arrows at other arrows will cause them to explode! It’s basically a bullet-time action scene from The Matrix, but with crossbows and slightly blockier visuals.

Pillager: Hrmm hrmm hrmh. Hrmph hrrr!

HEART RUSH 2

by Crowdford

If there’s one thing I know pillagers love, it’s the original Heart Rush. Just wait til’ they get their hands ...er, ends of their arms on the long-awaited sequel! This frantic PvP that’s heavy on customization is taken to new lofty heights, with revamped arenas and a big skill system update! The main attraction is a bonkers new feature that lets you create your own skills for the game! Can you add a skill that gives the bad omen status effect to every single Minecraft player out there? Um, maybe? My interests are pillager appeasement, not factual accuracy.

Pillager: Hrmmm hrmph *clears throat* yeah, this map is sweet!

Editor’s note: Pillagers don’t talk. If I didn’t know any better, I’d suspect Oskar wrote Pillager’s responses!
