Minecraft Dungeons is here!
Get it now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass!
Usually it takes the smell of pizza burning in the oven or the jingle of an ice cream truck to get me off the couch, but just now I actually jumped with excitement! I had to take a power nap afterwards, but still. Wondering why? You must’ve forgotten to mark your calendar, because Minecraft Dungeons is out now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass! At this point, you might want to stop reading and just get the game. So let me do you a favor: the official Minecraft Dungeons website is this way.
Minecraft… what now?
Bumped your head recently and can’t remember what the deal is with this game? Well, put down that iron pickaxe and grab a proper weapon, because the Arch-Illager is on the loose – and it’s up to you to save the world from his evil plan! Inspired by classic dungeon crawlers, Minecraft Dungeons allows up to four players to team up – online or in the living room. It retains the original game’s blocky charm, but instead of mining and crafting, you will be fighting and exploring through action-packed, treasure-stuffed, and wildly varied levels to defeat relentless swarms of new-and-nasty mobs.
Can't choose between playing as a sword-swinging fighter or spellcasting mage? Good news, my indecisive friend: you don’t have to! There are no classes in Minecraft Dungeons; you essentially are what you wear. This means that you can switch your specialty whenever you come across new, more powerful items as you adventure through the procedurally-generated canyons, swamps and – of course – mines! But why read about the game when there’s a shiny new launch trailer waiting for you? Take a look:
I don’t know about you, but that got my heart racing more than my stationary bike ever did. Just kidding! I use it as a clothes rack. But enough about my sedentary lifestyle because we have a game to play!
Get your copy now!
Ready to start your adventure? Simply go to the official Minecraft Dungeons website. You can choose between the Standard Edition ($19.99 USD) and the Hero Edition ($29.99 USD). The latter comes with a Hero Pass that includes a Hero Cape, two player skins, two upcoming DLC packs, and a chicken pet! I used to have a hen as a pet, but she went to live on a far-away farm soon after my mom found her droppings in the living room. Ahhhh, sweet childhood memories.
That’s all from me for now. I’m off to play–err, I mean finish that proofreading Per asked me to do. Wait, what do you mean by “I know what you’re doing and Gaming Friday is still three days away”? Awwwww.
