I am chicken, destroyer of worlds. These words echo in my head as – in chicken form – I flap towards my foes. I defeat a polar bear, then a wolf, then a giant spider, then a creeper (if I’m honest, that one ends spectacularly badly for me). With every victory I gain the ability to transform into the creature I have bested. Still, I remain obstinate in chicken form, determined to defeat every creature in Minecraft, even the Ender Dragon. Have I lost my mind? No! It’s just the first instalment of our new Let’s Play series, and we’re starting with Morph Pack by PANASCAIS!

Let's Play: Morph Pack
Become a chicken and battle the Ender Dragon!

Welcome to Marketplace Mondays, where on the first Monday of the month we celebrate some awesome Marketplace maps we’ve been playing recently. Today I get to be a shapeshifter, all thanks to this brilliant map that lets you transform into Minecraft mobs.
In this adventure, you’ll use the simple but powerful ‘Morphifier’ inventory item to collect new mob morphs. The catch? You have to find and defeat each mob first! With each win the magnificent Morphiphier gizmo stores that mob and lets you transform into them with just a couple of button presses.
I have amassed quite the collection of creatures in my Morph Pack worlds. Amazingly, every creature you suck into the Morphifier has its own abilities. My lethal chicken can fly forever, my spider can climb walls, and my polar bear form lets me passively hang out with other wildlife – before I suddenly attack and steal their eggs. Sorry about that, beast friends.

Chicken vs. polar bear, the ultimate battle!
Morph Pack offers up a whole new way to play Minecraft. It’s turned me into a blocky David Attenborough: I want to collect every mob form, and their respective colour combinations, from every biome. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend attempting this entirely in chicken form, but it’s certainly worth creating a world, picking a mob particularly you like, and charging off into the wilderness to see what happens!
On my first run with the Morphiphier, I turned into a chicken and managed to defeat a polar bear. I then switched to said polar bear’s form and tried to hunt some fish. I lost track of my bear’s oxygen levels and, in the end, the fish ate me.

I'm in danger endangered!

This is going swimmingly
Second run! Must do better. My next target was an innocent white rabbit. I became that rabbit and tried to infiltrate the rabbit community, because I wanted to become a much cooler-looking rabbit. Unfortunately my new floppy-eared friends somehow got wise, in a moment of frustration I transformed back into a human, equipped a stick, and tried to chase them down. This was a terrible plan. Every rabbit escaped, and I was later killed by a Creeper. Oops!

Why hello fellow rabbits, how do you do?
Third run! I became spider man, trying to do whatever a spider can. In my creepy eight-legged form I was unable to catch anything at all. Instead I found myself holding down the jump command to climb sheer surfaces and then stopping to admire the sunrise for a while. Shortly afterwards I tried to jump-attack a polar bear, fell off a cliff, and met my demise…
Having discovered that I’m the worst mob collector ever, I turned to grander schemes. Creating a Morph Pack world in Creative mode, I knew I could use the /summon command to fight any mob I wanted. One of my favourite things about Marketplace maps is that you can play them in Survival mode in one world, then take them into Creative mode in another to enjoy a completely different experience
The Creative mode experience I had in mind was a beast vs. beast battle royale, aka Chicken vs Everything. To make this epic fighting event a reality, I knew I needed a main show. I transformed into a chicken, flew to nearby neutral territory, took a breath…
And then typed: /summon ender_dragon.
I’d love to say it was a close fight. I’d love for my chicken to have landed a single blow on one of Minecraft’s most terrifying foes. In truth, it was no contest. The Ender Dragon, completely indifferent to my presence, dived and swerved around the landscape as I frantically flapped towards it. I tried to peck as it flew my way, but I was met by instant death.
RIP chicken, no longer destroyer of worlds. We had a good run, but everything's not lost! I have several Morph Pack worlds I dip into occasionally now, and they are all utterly bonkers. That Ender Dragon I summoned? He’s still flying around whenever I load that world back up. One of my other worlds is full of wolves, spiders and a half-built colosseum – I can’t even remember what plan I had in mind there, but it sure wouldn’t have been pretty. That’s my favourite thing about Morph Pack – one small download unlocks numerous worlds of solo adventure and Creative mode mob vs. mob possibilities.
What’s next? Ender Dragon vs. Ender Dragon? I’ll have to create another world and see which one wins.
If you fancy embarking on your own chicken-filled adventure, you can grab the Morph Pack by PANASCAIS from the Minecraft Marketplace right now! You know, all of this hunting and wildlife exploration has left me in the mood to settle down on a new island, put down roots, and create a fabulous home…
Stay tuned for the next edition of Marketplace Mondays to find out more!
