One of my favorite things about Minecraft is that not everything is trying to kill you all the time. Sure, there are zombies, and spiders, and creepers, and illagers, and guardians, and wardens, and my editor, and skeletons, and breezes, and... I should probably stop there. BUT! Many of the things living in the Overworld are really quite happy just to do their thing while you do yours. And today, we’re looking at one of the loveliest – the cute lil' rabbit.
Rabbits (not to be confused with hoppers) started appearing in the game in September 2014 – more than a decade before you’re reading this – as part of the Bountiful Update. That’s the same update that added prismarine, slime blocks, banners, and endermites.
To find one, you’ve got options. In desert biomes you’ll often find cream-colored bunnies hopping playfully among the sands. In icy biomes, you’ll sometimes see white and black & white rabbits that sniff their way through the snow. And in meadows, flower forests, taigas and cherry groves, there’s a chance you’ll see black, brown and brown & white bunnies munching on grass.
