Greetings! If you’re just joining us on our travels across the Overworld, we were now four happy travelers aboard a happy ghast. Makena and Ari joined Kai and me in the Badlands, and we were searching for our next stop. The sun is quite warm when you find yourself so close to it, being in the sky and all, so it was a no-brainer when Ari spotted a large body of water.
I pulled the emergency brake by standing up swiftly, and the three of them leapt off the side of the happy ghast. Before I joined them, I got out my postcard. I had to capture the beauty of all the colors glistening beneath the surface.
The wildlife here is maybe the most diverse in the entire Overworld, filling this biome with thousands of color combinations!

I readied myself for the crisp waves to break my swan dive and envelop me in a cooling hug. Instant refreshment was mine in three, two, one…
THUD!
Ouch! This was the hardest water I had ever swam in. I looked around, confused. What in the Overworld kind of water is this wooden? No water, dear reader! I had landed in a boat. The injustice of it all! My companions were splishing and splashing to their hearts’ content, and here I was, just sitting in a boat. Dry, bored, and absolutely livid.
I pouted very loudly, but then my discontent was drowned out by an underwater ambush! A herd of drowned had circled us, baring their tridents and groaning aquatically.
Drowned are zombies that have perished in water, but they will also spawn naturally in a few biomes, including this one.

Taking charge, I bravely shouted instructions to the other three. They fought valiantly thanks to my strong leadership, and in a few minutes the water was safe from both drowned and directionless companions.
I was finally ready to dip my toe into the water. It was bliss and the rest of my body quickly followed. As I dipped beneath the surface, I swam in sync with the mesmerizing sea grass. I followed the light of the sea pickles and picked a few for myself. Nestled between the colorful coral, was one of the drowned’s tridents. Don’t mind if I tri-do! Once that was tucked away, I grabbed some coral. But as soon as I got it loose from the floor, the vibrant color drained from its tubes and I was left holding dead coral.
Did you know that crying in water is both cathartic and practical? You’re replenishing while you purge. When my last sob had been expelled, along with an appropriate amount of snot, Ari swam up to me. They plucked another piece of coral with their silk touch enchanted pickaxe, and it stayed alive!
There are five types of coral that naturally generate here – brain, bubble, fire, horn, and tube.

I thanked Ari profusely, with my words and the action of relieving them of their enchanted pickaxe, and gathered one of each five fabulous types. Then I turned around and came face to face with a puffed up pufferfish! How dare it steal my likeness so brazenly!
It was time to move on, but not before giving my soggy postcard a send-off.
