    Minecraft Friendly Fishing Add-On

    Grab your rod and save the seas

    It's time to visit Minecraft's many shores, but this time, remember to bring your fishing gear!

    Together with Conservation International – a non-profit working to protect nature for the benefit of humanity – Mojang Studios have created an epic fishing adventure loaded with everything from tuna and clams to anchovies, sharks, and treasures – the Minecraft Friendly Fishing add-on!

    However, not everything hiding beneath the surface is finny friends or chests brimming with gold – some of it is plastic waste.

    So, pack your tackle box and embark on a journey where you’ll not just fish, but also learn about what we must do if we want to preserve our seas and ensure that sea life everywhere is thriving!

    Fishing and exploring

    The main goal for this add-on is to fish (no surprise there). But it’s not going to be an easy feat, as you need to ace the “tap” mini-game each time you hope to hook a barracuda, flounder, or sea bass. Those pesky fishes also come with unique behaviors and logic, so you must use both your wits as well as your patience if you are to catch those elusive sea dwellers (just like in real fishing). And there are over 90 types of fish, so let’s see how many you can catch.

    You can even log the fish you catch in your Fish Encyclopedia, track their weights, learn about where each fish is usually found, check their endangered status, and much more.

    Once you’ve caught a slippery eel, a clingy squid or some other creature of the deep, you can either release it back into the ocean or add it to your own aquarium – they make great pets!

    But, as you’ve been staring at the bobbin’ float for a while, you might feel the urge to go deeper and explore the depths below. Then just climb into your diving suit and see what awaits beneath the surface, perhaps some sunken ruins filled with loot?

    Cleaning the ocean

    Sadly, it’s not only fish you’re going to catch once you cast off. Just like in the real world, these waters are full of plastic waste, and again, just like the real world, it pollutes and disturbs the ecosystem.

    But fear not as you’re the solution to this problem (like all of us are). As you pull up a bit of plastic, don’t throw it into a lava pool, but recycle it instead, and use it to craft unique items.

    And as you collect more and more trash, you’ll unlock new items, more (non–plastic) fish species to catch, plus clean the ocean and learn more about how you can help clean up our real oceans – everyone wins!

    And remember that all net proceeds from sales will go directly to Conservation International to further aid them in their work.
