Test baby mounts with new looks

Giddy-up in Java snapshot now!

Drop everything! At once! Or maybe keep hold of your reins? Because just in time for the Year of the Horse, new versions of baby mounts gallop into testing! Our cutest game drop yet brings five more reimagined baby mobs, each one cuter than the last no matter which order you go in.

These aren’t just foals. They’re BABIES. Adorable, tiny, and pure of heart. I cannot handle how small they are, so let’s look at which ones are riding into Java snapshot today, and into Bedrock preview* soon, before I smash my computer into a wall. Yee-haw!

Foals

We’re just entering the Year of the Horse, so it’s only fitting that we’re blessed with stubby, soft-coated foals! They even come in all variations. White? Check. Chestnut? Check! Cream? CHECK! And so it goes. I would list them all, but that only takes more time away from spending time with them. And hearing that foals now also have custom sounds, I'm not wasting another second not hearing their adorable new neighing and whinnying!

Baby mules

Half donkey. Half horse. All! Baby! The baby mule wasn’t on my ranching mood board because I did not dare to dream that big! They are so cute, wandering around all small yet big-eared. What more can I ask for? Only more baby mules. Now!

Skeleton foals

Babies made of bones? My Halloween dreams are coming true! The new version of the skeleton foal is ready to click-clack through the night in Creative mode, casting a shadow as eerie as it is adorable. Imagine a rattling moonlight stampede of them? I’m sorry, it’s too much for me. I need to breathe into a bag for a second, the cuteness is out of control.

Zombie foals

Zombie horses only rode fully into Minecraft recently, and we’re already in love. And that love is about to turn into LOVE (in all caps!) because new versions of zombie foals are thundering into Creative mode! They are so cute it’s scary and I am ready to ride through the night on my zombie horse, flanked by my zombie foal. This is how I roll now and I’m never going back.

Baby donkeys

OK, I’m back! The baby donkeys are giving me life and some sort of level of control. They’re so steadfast, which is impressive considering that they’re BABIES. I’ve filled my entire base with baby donkeys. They’re on the plains, they’re on the roof, they’re in the baseme– wait. Did I say roof? Baby donkey, I’m coming! Stay where you are!

How can I test these features?

You can test these features by enabling snapshots for Minecraft: Java Edition, or by enabling previews/beta* for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. To install a snapshot, open up the Minecraft Launcher and enable snapshots in the "Installations" tab. To turn on an experiment in preview/beta for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition follow these instructions.
