Bi-Monthly Build Challenge: Birthday Cakes

It’s Bi-Monthly Build Challenge time again, and you know what that means! Time to goggle at another set of exquisite, themed builds made by members of the Minecraft Discord server. For the latter half of May, the challenge was birthday parties! In honor of Minecraft’s own twelfth birthday, these community members strapped on their dancing shoes to build a series of parties you’ll be begging for an invitation to.

The challenge was broad and open to interpretation, so get ready to feast your eyes on a splendiferous set of cakes, appetizers, balloons and more. We hope you came hungry!

1st Place: Uknownymous

This build blew us away. First of all, that cake is massive. The décor is luxurious, the food looks delicious, and if you count them... there’s a whole twenty chairs in there! What a fun explosion of color.

Here’s a little note from the creator themself: “It's amazing to see how much Minecraft has grown over the years, right? I've been with the game for over ten years myself now, and I wouldn't change that for anything. I've gone through huge ups and downs in my life over all that time, met so many people entirely thanks to it, and grown close to people I would never give up on all thanks to my experience with the game and its massive global community. It has helped nurture my creativity, given me something to do when I'm down, a place for refuge when I want to relax and rest; a place to enjoy when I want to raise my spirits and build my internal imaginations, and a lot of massive variety, all compacted into one single game.”

2nd Place:  Crazymm56

This is another party we’re just itching to attend. We particularly love  the colorful balloons, and the “12 Years” sign on the wall. The birthday presents were a nice touch, as

3rd place: Marius1029

What is most striking about this build is not, in fact, the delicious-looking cake waiting to be devoured, but the vintage looking table it is sitting on. Have you ever seen a more intricate table design? It looks like it once sat in the hallowed halls of a royal palace, and would be the perfect focal piece for any fancy sitting room. Not to mention that silverware!
