HOW TO SIGN IN

Now, let’s help you capture that cape! Signing in to (or signing up for) a Microsoft account can vary depending on the game version (Java Edition or Bedrock Edition) and the platform you’re using. To earn your cape, you need to have the Microsoft account set up before you log in via Bedrock Edition.   

The whole process is done in a few steps, and will run more smoothly if you use our guide for how to create a Microsoft account.

FAQ 

What do I need to do to get the cape? 

Sign in (or finish linking) with a Microsoft Account on any Minecraft: Bedrock Edition platform after 9 a.m. PDT on May 6, 2025. As soon as the sign-in flow completes, the cape is automatically granted to that account’s inventory. No separate code or purchase is required. 

Can I only claim the cape once? 

Yes! The promotion is allowed once per Microsoft Account. After the cape is added, it remains permanently attached to that account and cannot be redeemed again. 

How do I create a Microsoft Account? 

You can create one for free in just a few minutes by following the official steps here. When the signup process finishes, return to Minecraft and log in with those credentials. 

I’m already signed in with an MSA – will I still receive the cape? 

Absolutely. Any qualified account that is already signed in at the time mentioned above will receive the cape automatically the next time Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is played. No extra action is needed. 

Will the cape travel with me across devices? 

Yes. Because the item is tied to your Microsoft Account, it appears on every Bedrock platform on which you own Minecraft, whenever you sign in with that same account.

I signed in but don’t see the cape in my inventory – what should I do? 

First, give the system a few minutes: entitlement sync can take up to fifteen minutes at peak times. If it still hasn’t appeared, restart Minecraft (this forces an inventory refresh) and make sure you’ve logged in with the same Microsoft Account
