Gear up for The Copper Age with rewards
Pickaxes at the ready! We’re celebrating that our next game drop has a name, The Copper Age, with a copper-powered community challenge*. Not only will you get your inventory stocked up for crafting all the shiny features entering Minecraft later this year, but you'll also get rewarded with the exclusive Character Creator item: the Copper Collector in Bedrock Edition.
The Copper Collection challenge sets off at *checks timetable* right this second! We better get into your instructions then!
You and the rest of the Minecraft community will have four days to mine 50 million blocks of copper ore together between 8 am PDT/17:00 CET on August 29 and 10 am PDT/19:00 CET on September 2, 2025. To participate in the Copper Collection challenge, simply load one of your Minecraft worlds, then start mining copper ore with a pickaxe made of stone, iron, diamond, or netherite. Whatever device or method of mining you are using, you will receive this shiny Copper Collector item in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition if (or should I dare say when?) the goal is reached. The perfect look to match your new clonking companion: the copper golem.
Copper can be found all across the Overworld, but dig around in dripstone caves and trial chambers for the best chance to strike gold err... copper!
So clear your inventories and let’s all get digging for copper together. After all, teamwork is our richest resource!
*The challenge begins at 8 am PDT / 17:00 CEST on August 29 and runs until 10 am PDT/19:00 CET on September 2, 2025.
