How to craft furniture

One of the most common questions we hear is “when are you going to add furniture to Minecraft”? The answer is “right now”, and we’re going to explain how to make your home a welcome, modern style retreat at the end of a long adventure (with a little help from our copy of Minecraft: Guide to Creative). 

Once you’ve turned stair blocks into long couches (simply place them next to each other and make your couch as long as you want!, you can put arms at each end with a sign block, and make shorter chairs around the room using this method as well. They’re perfect for sitting in front of a grand television. You don’t have a television already? Let’s fix that. Make your television by covering a 4x2 set of black wool with a painting, then add jukeboxes to each side for speakers! Not enjoying just staring at a Minecraft painting for nine hours? Hmmm, suit yourself. Maybe you’d enjoy our YouTube channel more?

Ready for a little bit of sporting fun with your friends? Add a classic pool table in the corner by surrounding a 3x2 area of green wool with trapdoors. Drop a few strategic slimeballs and a snowball cueball and you at least look ready to game. Outside, dig down to create an artsy pool with a pattern at the bottom for the water fans - don’t forget the springboard for diving and so everyone can climb up to see your stylish work! 

All that playing and lounging is likely to make your guests hungry, so don’t forget to add a refrigerator. By using an iron block, iron door, dispenser, and button to make a fridge, not only have you created a clever looking item - but a functional food storage device! Scrub up with a sink made from hoppers, quartz slabs, and a lever.
