For months, strange rifts have appeared in unexpected places across the Overworld, with mysterious disturbances following in their wake – from mobs getting infused with strange energies, to sculk spreading across large chunks of terrain. Now, the architects behind these recent events have finally been revealed: The illagers are back, and they’re being led by a terrifying triumvirate – the Illager High Council!

The Prime Enchanter, the Supreme Evoker, and the Grand Illusioner have all been scheming and plotting for a long time. Now, they’ve put their plan into motion, and the Overworld isn’t their only target... 

Empowered by a mysterious force, the Illager High Council is launching its attack on multiple fronts. From the Sift, a newly discovered dimension, they're unleashing their soul corrupted forces upon worlds in a quest for control. The battle begins at Tokyo Game Show, where the nefarious trio has summoned a giant blue creeper to serve as the first wave of the attack. If left unchecked, the illagers’ greed could spread far beyond Tokyo! 

FIGHT BACK THE BLUE CREEPER 

Starting September 17 at 10:00 AM JST/ 03:00 AM CET / 05:00 PM PST, heroes across the world must band together – online, in Minecraft, or at Tokyo Game Show itself – to defeat the giant blue creeper and push back the illagers’ attack.  

Visitors attending Tokyo Game Show must journey to the Minecraft Dungeons II booth and take on the blue creeper. At the site, you will be able to pick a weapon and strike at the giant mob to inflict damage upon it. Its health pool is vast, and it will take much effort to bring it down!  

For those unable to make the journey to Tokyo Game Show – there are other ways to help weaken the blue creeper! Players can take to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (Survival mode or Creative mode) and contribute to the effort by defeating as many creepers as they can! No mining, just fighting! But beware, defeating creepers can only hurt the giant blue creeper so much.  

Luckily, there are other ways to contribute as well. Heroes can also join the battle on YouTube using a special Minecraft effect. Open YouTube, tap Create (+), select Effects, then launch the Minecraft effect to record and share your own adventure. Every challenge completed, regardless of your location or how you choose to fight, will help drive back the threat and bring us one step closer to the Sift!
