    Block by Block

    Building communities, hope, and common ground

    Block by Block is one of our longest-running initiatives. Working with UN Habitat we use Minecraft to democratize the planning of public spaces and help neighborhood residents model their surroundings in a way that works for them. The public spaces are then built in the real world, creating a sense of ownership and stronger communities.  

     

    The project has proven a huge success and has improved people’s living conditions in Nairobi, Mumbai, Bangladesh and more.

    An introduction to the Block by Block programme using Minecraft.

    One of the best things about Minecraft is in its accessibility; it makes the act of building and creating easy. It’s also simple to set up on almost any device, even with modest hardware.  

     

    Block by Block is an example of us playing to our strengths and using the core mechanics of our game in a way that has made real-world change across the globe.
