Camel rides are always better together, which is why we’re excited to announce that Minecraft is officially available on Chromebook! Dive into the new Trails & Tales update and meet a sniffer, brush for pottery shards, or adventure for armor trims. The choice is yours in Minecraft, and now there are more ways to play than ever before!
Minecraft is on Chromebook
Create, explore, and survive on even more devices
You can now purchase Minecraft: Bedrock Edition for Chromebook from the Google Play Store – with a discounted price available if you already own Minecraft for Android! Featuring cross-device play with friends, access to Minecraft Marketplace, and the ability to play on Realms, Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is available now on a variety of compatible Chromebooks. For the smoothest gameplay experience you can check the recommended device specifications here.
With cross-play functionality you can team up with friends across multiple devices, including Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC!* Play in Creative mode with unlimited blocks and team up on epic builds, or hunt for resources together in Survival mode, crafting tools to fend off danger. Whether you want to mine, explore, survive, or craft: stories are always better shared, no matter which device you and your friends enjoy gaming on.
Play the Trails & Tales Update on Chromebook
The Trails & Tales update is out now, and features new mobs, new blocks, and new items to transform your Overworld. As Game Director Agnes Larsson said, this update is all about “self expression, story telling, and world building. It’s your trails that tie it all together” – which definitely means I have permission to stop writing this right now and set off on a Minecraft journey of my own! If my Editor asks, I’m conducting important research. Also, Agnes said I could!
Bring the sniffer back from extinction by finding and hatching its eggs, and it’ll reward you by sniffing out some ancient seeds. Share a camel ride with a friend, become an archaeologist, decorate your base with chiselled bookshelves, leave each other messages with the new, editable hanging signs: and more! Craft your own stories, great and small, with all the new features, and even take part in a special Trails & Tales Event on June 23 – more information on that coming soon!
I really want the new amor trims, although some of them are a little harder to get than others. Can I defeat an elder guardian? I don’t know! Can I attempt it on Chromebook? From today, the answer is yes!
Get Minecraft for Chromebook now on the Google Play Store – and don’t forget if you already own Minecraft for Android, you can nab Minecraft for Chromebook at a special, discounted price!
