Can you feel it? That special feeling that comes on the eve of a big event. Magic in the air. Glitter blowing in the wind. Yup, you guessed it. Our Pride celebration is about to start so get ready for an entire summer of rainbow-scented fun!
Minecraft is for everyone, and this summer we’re going to highlight the LGBTQI+ community in lots of different ways. I do hope that you’ll join us, I promise that it won’t consist of 75 daily interviews with me, by me. That idea was inexplicably rejected by everyone, so we’re going to mix it up. Here’s what you can expect!
If you follow our social channels, you’ll join us for a personal tour of a Pride-themed aspirational home, check out our beloved Dungeons mobs creating their own special Pride moment, and peel your parrot-peepers by spotting the differences in a Pride-themed Facebook post. You’ll find a special episode of Meet a Minecrafter over on our YouTube channel. Here on Minecraft.net, you will get to meet some of our Mojang Studios team members who will share their experiences. We’re also checking in with our amazing community, who have outdone themselves with some truly incredible Pride-themed builds. It’s not a party without total participation, so we’re also going to need your help with some special skins! We’ll be wrapping up our Pride celebration in August, but remember that you don’t need an official event to be proud of who you are every single day.
Whoever you are, wherever you are, I hope you’ll join us this summer for a celebration of all things Pride. Whether you want to cover yourself in rainbow glitter, read up on LGBTQI+ history, learn about different parts of the community, or just quietly reflect – there’s no wrong way to celebrate Pride, just as there is no wrong way to be you.
