Name something more relaxing than kicking it back with a rod in hand, some refreshing lemonade in a Minecraft cup, and the endless possibilities that the blocky sea provides?
Nothing? Glad we agree. Because fishing is simply the best, and on November 21, it’s World Fisheries Day, which is all about celebrating the wonders of fishing! And I’m not just talking about actual fishing, but also the importance of maintaining a healthy ecosystem and that we must care for every living being found in our oceans.
As part of this celebration, we wanted to highlight some of our fishing packs available on Minecraft Marketplace!
Friendly Fishing Add-On by Minecraft
Not that long ago we released this splashing fishing add-on which doesn’t just teach you about fish and fishing, but also about trash found in the ocean. Not everything we manage to catch are edible, happy fish – some of it isn’t supposed to be there, like plastic waste for example. In this add-on, you’re able to learn more about what to do once you manage to snag some waste on your hook, and what you can do to help protect our oceans! As a bonus, your Minecraft ocean will be full of over 90 new fish and sealife plus more than 40 land and ocean structures!
Friendly Fishing was developed in direct partnership with Conservation International – a non-profit focused on protecting our water ecosystems. From now, until January 29th, 2026, all net proceeds* from add-on sales will be donated directly to their organization to help support their efforts!

Fishing + Add-on by MobBlocks
Fishing should be fun, not complicated! Those are not my words, but the collective wisdom of billions of fishers throughout the ages (just trust me, okay). And MobBlocks’ add-on offers just that; a tranquil yet exhilarating time as you try to catch any of the 70 new fish found in this pack. Once you’ve managed to catch, say... a barracuda, bream, or a black crappie, you can cook them and turn them into nutritious dishes! Another rewarding day of fishing!
Aquaculture Add-On by Team Metallurgy
To catch those real tricky sea dwellers, you need to come prepared with a fully packed tackle box stuffed with bobbers and bait. Perhaps you even need some new rods, and whatever else you simply can’t live without if you are to catch any of the 60 fish and underwater creatures flipping around in this add-on. So, pick out the rod that feels the most “right” to you, customize it, and make sure you’re ready to haul home a whole bunch of tasty fish. And if your hands have begun to sprout callouses from struggling with a rod all day, why not try a net instead? Or simply explore what’s below the alluring surface!
Fishing++ by Kubo Studios
If you want to level up your whole fishing game, this is the way to go. It’s a bit more complex – in a good way – as it provides 40 new fish with hyper-realistic behavior, and even ancient fish found in the Nether. You can also build fully-working, intricate aquarium systems, craft whole new types of rods, and more or less anything you might feel inclined to try as you’re starting your journey towards becoming a Fish Grand Master (yes, it’s a legit title that I just came up with).
AutoFisher 1.0.1by Scai Quest
Apparently, some of you out there aren’t as keen on fishing as the rest of us (honestly, I can also grow weary fishing hours on end). Thankfully, there’s a solution where you can still enjoy the wonders of fishing, without doing any fishing. Instead, let the AutoFisher do all that toiling work for you! The AutoFisher will ensure that you have a healthy supply of fish at your disposal. All you have to do is craft a bit. And if you feel things are moving along a tad too slow, just craft some more to speed it up or add a trash sorter, with an accompanying incinerator for some extra action and efficiency.
There you go; you’re now prepped with lots of great bobs, rods, and plenty of fish for you to catch! And if you want to read a bit more about our oceans and fishing you can do it here!
Good luck with your “fishing” and let’s celebrate World Fisheries Day together!
