Mounts of Mayhem: Nether Arena

Now that me and my doppelgänger are in position, the games can begin! Here comes our hero, right on cue. Fully armored, spear in hand, and a fire in their eyes. Oh wait, that’s just the reflection from the lava. But the effect remains the same! Now where is their foe?

aaaaaAAAAAAAAH!

I can hear it! The mighty ghast soars in, shooting fireballs. Our hero runs but manages to get one jab in thanks to their long ranged weapon. The ghast soars away before rearing its enormous head which makes up most of its body. It starts to return, and our hero… drops their spear? OK. Interesting move. Is there another way to use it when it lies on the ground? Like some sort of a distraction?

Oh wait, they’re just swapping weapons. They’re now wielding a pickaxe!

Another interesting move. It looks like it's made of diamond, so that’s something? The ghast approaches, and the hero holds their pickaxe high above their head and brings it down? Are they… are they mining? Excuse me! There’s a ferocious beast en route!

The ghast lets out another scream, lighting a fire beneath our hero. They mine faster and faster, gathering as much ancient debris as they can before running out of the fire balls’ path.

The ghast takes a sharp turn.

The hero takes out a shovel.

Really? I know the Nether is home to a lot of rare material, but this is a big deal. I’m here!! But that does remind me, I should definitely pick up some glowstone before I head home.

Finally, our hero's inventory seems to be filled with soul sand. They’ve got the spear back in their grip and apply the lunge enchantment.

Quick as a cat, they dart towards the ghast. Before it can emit another flaming projectile, they leap forward at an incredible speed and conquer! Yay! They continue leaping, right into the pool of lava. Nay!

I guess the victor this time is nature. Well, it was due! Stridey, take me over to all that floating loot. Reader, I’ll see you at the next arena!
