Vote for the biome we update next
During the MINECON Earth livestream this Saturday!
The Taiga! The Savanna! The Desert! Three brilliant Minecraft biomes that we've got big plans for: we're going to update all three with new features and mobs!
But unlike writing for this website, game development takes skill, hard work and time. We'll be updating all the biomes eventually, but which biome should we update first?
We want YOU to decide! During the MINECON Earth livestream on September 29th (that's this Saturday!) you'll be able to vote live on Twitter for the biome you want us to start working on as soon as the livestream is over! Wait, can't we even have the weekend off? Aww...
Here's a video with Java Team superstars, Jens and Agnes, explaining how this vote will work!
DON'T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO VOTE
To vote, you'll have to watch the MINECON Earth livestream this Saturday, where we'll be opening the voting to everyone. Click this lovely line of green text to see how to watch MINECON Earth wherever you are in the world!
Once voting opens, you'll be able to vote on Twitter. Make sure you're following @Minecraft on Twitter first! Then, during the livestream, we'll post a Twitter poll with three options: Taiga, Savanna and Desert.
All you have do is select the biome you want to be updated next from those three options and then press Vote!
Later during the livestream, the biome with the least amount of votes will be knocked out and we'll start a second poll with the last two remaining biomes. Just make sure you're paying attention to the MINECON Earth livestream so you know when to vote!
Not familiar with voting on a Twitter poll? This is what it looks like:
Just to be crystal clear, you're not voting for which biome we update – you're voting for which biome we update next - so all three biomes will get these updates in time!
We've also seen some concerns that this is the only update we'll be announcing at MINECON Earth. Don't worry, we've got much much much much more to share with you about the future of Minecraft on Saturday. So make sure you watch the MINECON Earth livestream on September 29th and don't miss out!
