One of the greatest joys of the “Mine” part of Minecraft is finding out what’s behind the block in front of you. As your pick hits the stone, every possibility awaits – could it be a vein of diamonds? Or a cavern full of lava? Or a stronghold? Or an ancient city? No – sorry, it’s just another stone block. But wait... what’s behind that one?
As someone who mostly played Minecraft single-player, an experience I always find creepy is when I uncover something that’s not a natural block – cobblestone, for example. Have I accidentally got myself turned around in the tunnels and mined into my own basement? Or has someone else somehow gotten into my world? Usually, the answer is much simpler – it’s our structure of the month, the monster room.
