Minecraft’s murky swamps are an unappealing place to hang out. Full of slime and frogs and one-block-deep pools of water, you’ll spend most of your time paddling around instead of collecting resources. But occasionally you’ll spot something interesting looming out of the mist – a swamp hut. The home of a witch.
Not coincidentally, Swamp huts began appearing in the Overworld at the same time that witches did – following the Pretty Scary Update, released in October 2012. They were originally called “witch huts” – I don’t know why the name got changed. Maybe it was because each hut has a cat living there too, and “witch and cat huts” is just too long?
