Everyone has their own personal camping styles, and this writer is no different! While exploration is great and campfires are cozy, there’s just something about sleeping under the stars. Relaxing by a river. Only taking nature’s calls and ignoring those from your editor. Doesn’t that sound nice?
Well, it would if the ground weren’t so hard and prickly! Don’t be fooled by those grass blocks, they aren’t as soft as they seem. They need a softer element. A cushier element. Maybe even with some straw? Hmmm… We’re going to have to band together and make the Overworld a little more comfortable for the Wilderness Bound drop. Are you with me, camping community? Yeah!
The challenge
Here’s what you need to do: between Saturday, September 26 and Friday, October 1 10 AM PT, you’re going to place as many straw beds and cushions as you can. Ultimate comfort, out in the wild. If we can come together and place 50M straw beds and 200M cushions by October 1, 10 AM PT, you will be rewarded with more than just amenities al fresco. Now I know what you’re thinking – that can’t possibly be enough cushions. The number is conservative, sure, but in the spirit of the Wilderness Bound drop we’re going to rough it.
The rewards
Help place 50% of both, and you’ll unlock two free Character Creator items and a Java skin.
But if you complete the entire challenge by placing all of the straw beds and cushions, you’ll unlock two MORE free Character Creator items and ANOTHER Java skin. For everyone!
Now let’s go, I’m getting tired of standing on these rough dirt blocks. It’s sitting time!
Terms and Conditions
*Challenges require Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (sold separately) and an active internet connection (ISP fees may apply), except free player jerseys require either Bedrock or Java Edition (sold separately). Online console multiplayer including the second community challenge requires a platform-specific online subscription (sold separately). After each community challenge is complete, all Bedrock players receive the associated in-game reward. 1 of each reward per person/account, must be redeemed by June 16, 2027.
