Fairy tales are my favorite kinds of story, and seeing as this month’s Realms Plus additions include princess castles, tree mansions, and frogs, I thought we could write a blocky fairy tale of our own! In Tree Mansion by CrackedCubes you’ll begin your Survival spawn as the owner of an enormous, sky-high, mansion! Grab your friends or play solo, just be ready to start your newest roleplaying adventure. Will you craft a tale about a tree-based supervillain, or a misunderstood, millionaire squirrel? The choice is yours! I think I’m going to try and befriend as many woodland mobs as I can and invite them inside. Isn’t that what usually happens in fairy tales?

Dueling feels like a very storybook thing to do, which is why we’re hopping straight into Duels 1vs1 by Waypoint Studios! In this combat-packed map you’ll need to pick your armor, weapon, and fighting style (mine is always to panic and button mash) before entering the arena of your choice. Test your skills against your favorite frenemies, start a duel tournament on your Realm, and may the best fighter win!

Fairy tales usually involve a trusty steed – a companion you can cover some blocky ground with. In Cars Cars Cars by 57Digital you can choose from 35+ blocky vehicles and explore the Overworld from a brand-new perspective! Rock around in a mini-van, breeze past in a sports car, or chug along in a truck. Me and my new steed are going to start by challenging everyone to a go-kart race! Ready? Steady? Go!

Most of my favorite stories start off with an imaginative new world. In Cubed 8x8 you can transform your Overworld into a gloriously simplified 8-bit version! Craft on 8-bit tables, wave to 8-bit golems, and even run from 8-bit creepers! What’s more, there are eight 8-bit skins included (a very fitting number!) so you can blend in with the bright and colorful Overworld around you.

Now we’re at the point in our blocky fairy tale where we must venture into the unknown and fight mine lucky blocks: this time, with a Nether twist! In Lucky Block: Nether by Ninja Block, you’ll step into a warped wood castle, and discover some mysterious blocks. Strike the lucky blocks and you might find a shiny emerald, or perhaps some strong armor. Of course you could also find a ghast… how lucky will you be?

This enormous base can become your next Survival spawn, or your next Peaceful mode adventure. Climb the tall turrets and explore every nook and cranny to uncover all the hidden chests! You may even find something to help you activate that End portal…

Whether you want to play the part of the princess or the frog, do it with the new skin packs landing this month! FROG by Pickaxe Studios lets you dress like your favorite amphibians; whereas Planet Teens transforms you into your favorite zodiac sign! I think I’m going to spend the month dressed as a frog. Or a bull? Like any air sign, I can’t decide. Perhaps I’ll go for one of the cute, cottage-themed skins in Cottagecore 2 by DigiPort!
If all this talk of fairy tales has you raring to take on an epic quest, then why not face up to the prehistoric dinosaurs in Paleocraft by CompyCraft who may or may not have escaped their enclosures? SURVIVAL BUT has all the trials of Survival mode, plus four thousand new challenge combinations that’ll make your save file the trickiest one yet! In Immersion: New York by Shapescape you’ll get to explore the city that never sleeps as you hunt for hidden collectibles. Of course, if you want a bit of a calmer month (or an adventure with fewer teeth) then why not try opening your own coffee shop in Cafe Simulator by Waypoint Studios?
