Here’s a little tip for anyone taking their first steps towards improving the aesthetics of their structures in Minecraft: replace the floor. Rather than trudging through dirt, or stone, every time you come indoors from a long day of mining, it’s much nicer to swap in some wood, or concrete, to mark the boundary between outdoors and indoors. But if you’ve done that, and you’re still having trouble getting your flooring to look great, then well... you might just need the help of our item of the month: carpet.
Carpets became a part of Minecraft in the Horse Update in July 2013, alongside leads, name tags, hay bales, and – you guessed it – horses. Since then they’ve had all manner of tweaks – in fact, almost every major Minecraft patch has changed the behaviour of carpets in some way.
