MINECRAFT REALMS FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Minecraft Realms.
WHY ARE THERE TWO VERSIONS OF REALMS?
We've developed separate versions of Minecraft so that the game runs well on different platforms. Minecraft (the version you find on mobile, console and Windows 10) runs on one kind of code, and Minecraft: Java Edition (for PC, Mac and Linux) runs on another. These two versions are incompatible with each other and are developed separately with different features. Players on Minecraft:Java Edition can't play on console, mobile or Windows 10 Realms and vice versa.
HOW MUCH DOES A REALMS SUBSCRIPTION COST?
Realms has slightly different pricing plans for different platforms and countries.
You can purchase Realms for Java Edition here on minecraft.net and you can find the price options listed there.
For all other platforms, open Minecraft and choose to create a new Realm to see what the available price options for your platform and country.
HOW LONG WILL MY MINECRAFT REALMS SUBSCRIPTION LAST?
On most platforms, subscriptions are available as a recurring monthly payment or chunks of one or six months. There is also a three month option with the Java Edition. Some platforms do not currently allow recurring subscriptions, however.
DOES THE OWNER OF A REALM HAVE ANY SPECIAL PRIVILEGES?
Realm owners of any version do get to choose who to invite, and switch between game modes. Realm owners on mobile, console and Windows 10 can also generate invite links to add new members, download a backup of the Realm and promote other members to operators which means they will be able to use slash commands in game.

CAN I UPLOAD MY MINECRAFT MAP ONTO REALMS?

In order to use a world template from the Minecraft Marketplace on mobile, Windows 10 or console, you should create a new world using the template, then upload the world to your Realm.
DOES REALMS SUPPORT MODDING?

For Xbox Live account assistance contact Xbox Support. For help with a Mojang account contact Mojang support.
WHAT ARE CLUBS?
Realms Clubs are online meeting places created specifically for members of your Realms to share stuff and socialise. In your Club, you can share posts with each other and like videos, photos, and comments. They’re automatically created for your Realm, and anyone you invite to your Realm is also added to the Club. You can access your Realms Clubs from the Xbox App on PC, mobile, or console, or directly from your Realms menu in Minecraft. Clubs are not available with Minecraft: Java Edition.
