IRC Rules:

The purpose of #minecraft is to enable direct communication between me as a developer and you as a player and/or customer. I want to tell you about hot new features, and I want to hear your direct feedback. Also, it's cool to get to know each other personally.
Or at least, that USED to be the purpose. Here are some rules, as phased by Animator:
1. You may talk about anything except the following things:
- Custom Servers
- Minecraft Hacks
- Any illegal or offensive content

2. Do not skim over the rules, test them to see how far they go, or taunt the ops. You are
not slick and you will be kicked or banned.

3. Do not spam or insult others (trolling neither), and speak in complete sentences, as well as no flooding. Do not
assault and conspire against other communities in the channel either.

4. Do not impersonate others in the channel and do not nickspam (change names constantly), pick one and
stay with it.

5. If you have a problem with any operator whatsoever, you may speak to them in query if you are
banned/kicked. If the problem persists, contact Notch. If any problem occurs in the channel, query them as well.

6. Do not overly swear. The usual swear word is fine once in a while, but when you start going overboard, there
will be action taken.

7. Agree to disagree. If an argument erupts in the channel and there is no end to it, the OPs will interfere,
usually with muting the entire channel.

8. No talking bots are allowed, as well as easily abusable or malicious scripts. Any exception to this rule will
be viewed upon the judgement of the Ops.

9. Do not auto-join, this is considered bad form and is frowned upon.

10. A punishment to an channel user will vary from the judgment of the Op and the amount of malice in whatever
rule was broken. The Ops also reserve the right to enact any temporary rule to the channel in order to contain
the peace.
In order to enforce these rules, ops can and will kick and/or ban. Bans are rarely permanent, but they can be (for example, if you're an obvious spam bot).
